Alvitta Ottley is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science & Engineering at Washington University in St. Louis. She also holds a courtesy appointment in the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences. Dr. Ottley’s research interests include information visualization, human-computer interaction and visual analytics. Her research evaluates and determines visualization techniques for helping laypeople explore, reason, and make judgments with data. Her recent work applies machine learning and artificial intelligence to automatically learn goals, cognitive traits and future clicks from interaction data with a visualization.
