Dr. Chris S. Crawford is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Alabama. He earned his B.S. in Computer Science at the University of Alabama and his Ph.D. in Human-Centered Computing at the University of Florida under Dr. Juan E. Gilbert. His research focuses on human-robot interaction and brain-computer interface applications. He has investigated systems that provide computer applications and robots with information about users’ cognitive state. He recently developed a brain-drone racing system that was featured in over 600 news outlets including Discovery, USA Today, and the New York Times. Along with investigating brain-robot interaction applications, Chris is also investigating ways to address barriers that hinder novice programmers with developing neurofeedback applications.
