Dr. Charles Isbell is a founding faculty member in Georgia Tech’s online Master of Science in Computer Science (OMS CS) degree program. The OMS CS program was created in partnership with Udacity and AT&T in order to address the global need for more accessible, affordable and accredited advanced computer science education. Dr. Isbell teaches both Machine Learning and Reinforcement Learning in the program and has traveled the world – including visits to IBM Research Africa, universities in India, and even a Congressional committee meeting – to share the massive success and future possibilities of OMS CS. A leader amongst African American technologists, Dr. Charles Isbell has been pivotal in fostering a diverse community with the College of Computing at Georgia Tech. He has been a speaker at the Richard Tapia Celebration of Diversity in Computing and is on the Advisory Board for the Advancement of African American Researchers in Computing.
